The Denver SBDC Business Consultants provide no-fee, confidential business counseling on all management topics. All of our consultants have broad-based skills and significant experience as business owners and/or managers. They have extensive management counseling experience and they have access to extensive resources to assist you to address any specific business problem.

Tameka Montgomery, Executive Director
Strategic Planning, Procurement, Operations
Tameka is a graduate of Spelman College (B.A.) and Columbia University (M.P.A.). She was also a Presidential Management Fellow in Washington D.C. working on various projects. In 2001, Tameka developed a business incubation program in northeast Denver to support the needs of new and early stage businesses. Tameka has a solid management background and enjoys developing training programs and providing consultation to small business owners. She has worked with many entrepreneurs guiding them in starting their businesses, strategic planning, marketing, and many other management issues.

Jim Olp, Senior Business Consultant

Jim has a depth of experience derived not just from his many years working with SBDCs, but also from his ownership of more than a dozen small businesses in the West. He has taught virtually every aspect of small business management and operations at the college level for more than two decades. He has exceptional expertise in business financing options and can assist clients in structuring their business plans and pro forma projections toward the goal of securing financing.

Jane Reiter, Business Consultant

Jane, our Lakewood business consultant, has over 20 years experience in sales and marketing. In her career she has owned and operated her own retail and sales business. She has a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.Ed. in Adult Education. In her role as a business counselor, she guides Small Business Development Center clients through start-up issues, marketing, alternative financing and business plan development. She is dedicated to helping small business achieve their goals in growth and expansion.

Janina Calderon-Ferguson, Business Consulting

Janina Calderon-Ferguson is the owner of Calderon Hispanic Marketing and has been in the field of marketing for more than 20 years. She has consulted with both large and small businesses, helping them develop their marketing strategies. Janina has a particular expertise in helping companies effectively reach and influence the Hispanic Market.

Caroline Hanna, Business Consultant

Caroline combines over 18 years of business ownership experience with her certification background. From start-up through development, she has utilized her skills to develop businesses including a limited edition print gallery and a quick printing business. As Certification Director at the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Hanna created the Women Business Enterprise (WBE) Certification program. She managed the program and collaborated with various organizations throughout Denver, advocating for women and minority owned companies.

Chuck Hahn, Business Consultant

Chuck is the founder of Hahn Consulting Group LLC, which creates visual marketing tools for consultants, trainers, and educators. Chuck assists clients with effectively marketing their businesses on the internet. He also helps clients with their overall business strategy.

Courtney Berg, Business Consultant

Human Resources and Operation Management

Courtney assists clients with strategies to improve human resources and operations management. Courtney is the founder of CourtSide Consulting LLC, which helps organizations improve their effectiveness through better employee performance management, human resources policy/process development and implementation. She has been published in national publications and has spoken at state and national conferences.

Jessica Toothaker, Training Coordinator/Administrative Assistant

Jessica is your first point of contact with the Denver SBDC. She has a long history of providing superior customer service and ensuring the successful coordination of projects. As a recent graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Previously, she was managing an upscale restaurant and wine bar, and is very excited to play a part in the success of small

businesses in Denver.

Tetyana Komashko, Admin Intern

Tetyana recently moved to Colorado from the Ukraine. She attended Bear Creek High School and graduated in 2006. She is continuing her education at the Community College of Denver where she is studying business and intends to transfer to the University of Colorado at Denver. She was an honor student at both Bear Creek High School and currently CCD. Tetyana assists with the administrative assistant tasks and setting up for seminars at the SBDC.
